Alice Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 31, 2026

AnimeAssistant AI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides Alice, a personal AI app. This policy explains the information Alice accesses, where it goes, why it is used, and the controls available to you.

Alice does not contain third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal data. Most app records stay on your device, but features you choose can send the information described below to service providers so those features can work.

Information stored on your device

Alice stores settings, conversation context, memories you ask it to keep, alarms and tasks, character state, the connected Google account name, cached images, and limited diagnostic logs on your device. API credentials are also stored locally and are used only to authenticate with the service you configured.

App data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. Local records remain until you remove them in the relevant feature, use Delete local data in the app, clear Alice’s storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Temporary files may be removed sooner by Alice or Android.

Alice account

Alice requires an account for cloud features and purchases. Supabase processes your email address, unique username, optional display name, authentication provider, and a randomly assigned account ID. Email-and-password accounts must verify their email address before signing in. Google or Discord sign-in may also provide your verified email, account name, profile image, and the provider-specific account identifier needed to authenticate you.

Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are not visible to AnimeAssistant AI. Alice stores an encrypted refresh token on your device to keep you signed in. For abuse prevention, the username login service temporarily stores a salted hash derived from network information and a count of recent attempts; it does not store the password or expose the email connected to a username. See Supabase’s privacy policy.

AI conversations and providers

To answer a request, Alice sends your message and relevant recent context from your device to AnimeAssistant AI’s server, which forwards it to the AI provider that generates Alice’s replies. Alice currently uses DeepSeek, and AnimeAssistant AI can also route requests to Featherless. Depending on what you ask Alice to do, a request can also include speech transcripts, tool results, photos or screenshots, and relevant Google Calendar event content.

AnimeAssistant AI’s server does not routinely store the text of your messages or Alice’s replies. If you tap Report this reply, the selected reply text, its message identifier, your account ID, and the report time are stored in Supabase for safety review. A report remains until it is reviewed or resolved and is removed when you delete your Alice account.

For each AI request, AnimeAssistant AI records your account ID, the AI model used, the number of tokens processed, how and when the response ended, how long it took, and the length of the reply, so it can apply usage limits. These records are deleted when you delete your Alice account.

DeepSeek (Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd.) processes this information to generate a response under its own privacy terms. DeepSeek states that it collects, processes and stores personal data in the People’s Republic of China. See DeepSeek’s privacy policy and Open Platform terms.

When a request is routed to Featherless, Featherless processes this information to generate a response and applies its own privacy and retention terms. Featherless states that API prompts and completions are processed in real time rather than logged or stored, while usage metadata such as token counts and request settings may be retained. See Featherless’s privacy policy and privacy and logging documentation.

Microphone and speech

If you grant microphone access and turn voice features on, Alice uses the microphone for press-to-talk, hands-free conversation, wake-word detection, and audio-driven character animation. Wake-word listening may continue in the background while Alice’s voice service is enabled.

Speech recognition runs on your device. Alice does not transmit or retain raw microphone audio in the production voice flow. The resulting transcript is sent to your configured AI provider as part of your request.

Camera and saved images

If you grant camera access, Alice can show a live camera background and can take a photo when you request a visual answer or enable a camera-based check-in. A photo used for an AI answer is temporarily cached on the device and sent to your configured AI provider for analysis.

Screen sharing and screenshot capture are unavailable. Screenshots saved by earlier versions may remain in recent conversation context and be sent to your configured AI provider with that context. You can delete individual saved images in the photo gallery. Saved images are also removed when they leave recent conversation context.

Google Account and Calendar

Connecting Google is optional. With your OAuth permission, Alice can read, create, update, or delete Google Calendar events on your behalf. Alice does not request access to Gmail or Google Drive. Alice stores the selected account email on the device and may keep a local mirror of upcoming calendar events for alarms.

Google data is fetched directly from Google when a feature needs it. Relevant content is sent to your configured AI provider only when needed to fulfill your request or an enabled feature. You can disconnect Google in Alice. You can also revoke Alice’s access from your Google Account security settings. Google handles data under the Google Privacy Policy.

Alice’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing features you request; AnimeAssistant AI does not use it for advertising, credit decisions, or training generalized AI or machine-learning models.

Web search

When you ask Alice to search the web, the search terms are sent to DuckDuckGo. DuckDuckGo and normal internet infrastructure may also receive standard network information such as your IP address. Search results can become part of the context sent to your configured AI provider. See DuckDuckGo’s privacy policy.

Purchases

Quanta packs are one-time purchases processed by Google Play and RevenueCat. Alice uses your Supabase account ID as the RevenueCat app-user identifier and shares purchase history plus basic app, device, and transaction metadata needed to verify entitlements, operate purchases, prevent fraud, and analyze sales. Alice does not receive your full payment-card number. AnimeAssistant AI’s server keeps your Quanta balance and a record of each pack credited and each request charged. Your balance is deleted with your Alice account; purchase and usage records are kept without your account ID for accounting. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

Security and retention

Alice uses encrypted HTTPS connections when communicating with AnimeAssistant AI’s server, Google, RevenueCat, DuckDuckGo, and configured AI providers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so only connect accounts and providers you trust.

Local data follows the retention rules described above. External services retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations. Account records remain until you delete the account or request deletion. Deleting local Alice data does not cancel a Google Play subscription or delete your Alice account or records held by Google, RevenueCat, an AI provider, or DuckDuckGo.

Your choices and deletion

You can decline optional permissions, turn off voice, camera, and other features, disconnect Google, remove individual memories or images, and clear Alice’s app data through Android settings.

Delete local data in Alice’s in-app Privacy Policy signs out the locally connected Google account and asks Android to erase Alice’s local files, databases, settings, and cache. It does not delete your Alice account, cancel subscriptions, revoke every external authorization, or send deletion requests to third parties. To delete the account and server-side Alice data, open You → Alice account → Delete account, or request deletion at privacy@databites.ca. Deleting an account does not cancel an active Google Play subscription.

Children’s privacy

Alice is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Policy changes

We may update this policy as Alice or its service providers change. The current version and effective date will be shown in the app and on this page.
